Summertime questionnaire!

Level: A1-B2

End of the school year coming up!!!

Finally, some time to actually get to know your students.

  • Great for kids, teenagers and adults from A2 to B2 level.

It is a printable questionnaire based on Szczepan Twardoch’s selection of essays titled How I didn’t become a poet.

Procedure:

Get SS to work in pairs, groups or do a ‘speed dating activity’.

Distribute the worksheets. One per person if you want SS to make notes. One per group if you want to stay eco-friendly or love paperless classes J

Set time limit for each question. 30s per person worked best in my classes. Some questions seem to generate lots of controversy (e-g.: What do you look for in a boy/girl?) If your SS and you decide to do so, you may give some extra time for these.

Makeup Artist

Level: B1 and up

This worksheet is a made-to-measure lesson for one of my teenage students. She asked me to make a lesson about makeup. I don’t know much about the topic… but I promised to do my best.

I tried to google Gary Vaynerchuk cosmetics, Gary Vee makeup, etc. The only thing that kept popping up was the name… Bobbi Brown.

I had no idea, who Bobbi was. It turned out she is a professional makeup artist and the founder and ex-CCO of Bobbi Brown Cosmetics, social media expert and a very inspiring person with a great sense of humor.

It was a pleasure to learn so much about Bobbi, her job and the beauty business.

Enjoy!

In this episode, Gary talks to a slime entrepreneur, Maddie Rae. She’s 13yo and she probably makes more money, than you and I put together, doing something she loves.

Selling Slime!!!

Check it out!

btw. Gary doesn’t curse as much as usually 🙂

The Sleep Revolution

Level: B1+ and up.

Relevant topic is the key to a successful lesson. It’s often hard to find a subject that all students would be interested in.

There are very few things that we all have in common. That is why this video is such a great material for your class.

Each and every one of us needs to sleep. We have all had issues with how much we sleep. How much we need? How much sleep we would like to get? What’s the right time to go to bed?

Everyone has something to say about sleep.

Also!!! It’s a great starting point to a conversation on how unimportant perfect pronunciation is.
